Spring Season Begins With Significant Drought Conditions & Water Use Restrictions

The Cambridge Water Department (CWD) wants to make the Cambridge community aware of the latest water drought status. Last week, the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) changed the Cambridge drought level status to Level 2 (Significant Drought). In response to the ongoing drought, Cambridge has implemented strict water use restrictions.

The City of Cambridge has officially launched its local Massachusetts 250 campaign, a City and statewide initiative to celebrate 250 years of America’s independence and Massachusetts’ revolutionary legacy. Throughout 2025 and 2026, the City of Cambridge plans to showcase stories that highlight historic themes of revolution and independence through a series of engaging events.
Apply to DHSP Afterschool Programs for the 2025-2026 School Year. Application Deadline is May 11.

The Department of Human Service Programs offers afterschool programs for Cambridge children in Kindergarten through 8th grade, designed to develop social and emotional growth. Young people enjoy a range of activities, explore interests, and build friendships. Afterschool programs run during the school year, from September - June.
Cambridge City Manager Yi-An Huang Submits Proposed FY26 Budget to City Council

The proposed Operating and Capital budgets for fiscal year 2026 (FY26), as well as the FY27-FY30 Operating and Capital Plans, have formally been submitted to the Cambridge City Council.
