Cambridge Half Marathon: Expect road closures, traffic impacts on Sunday, November 6

Expect road closures and traffic impacts on Sunday, November 6, due to the 5th annual Cambridge Half Marathon

The race begins and ends at the CambridgeSide mall in East Cambridge. Beginning at 7 a.m., participants will travel through Kendall Square, Cambridgeport, Riverside, Lower Allston, Watertown, Harvard Square, and West Cambridge. Several blocks of First Street near CambridgeSide will close from 5 a.m. to noon, and there will be additional significant road closures along the 13.1 mile loop.

 

The following roads will be closed during the event:

5 a.m. to noon (7 hours) 
Binney Street from First Street to Main Street 6:45 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. (45 minutes)
Vassar Street from Main Street to Memorial Drive  7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. (45 minutes)
Massachusetts Avenue from Brookline Street to Memorial Drive 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. (3 hours)
Albany Street from Main Street to Waverly Street 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. (3 hours)
Sidney Street from Mass Ave to Erie Street 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. (45 minutes)
Erie Street from Sidney Street to Albany Street/Waverly Street 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. (45 minutes
Putnam Avenue from Albany Street to Western Avenue 7 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. (2.75 hours)
Hingham Street
7:15 a.m. to 8 a.m. (45 minutes)
JFK Street from Memorial Drive to Mt. Auburn Street
7 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. (2.25 hours)
Mt. Auburn Street from JFK Street to Putnam Avenue 7:15 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. (2.25 hours)
Portland Street from Albany Street to Main Street
8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. (1.75 hours) 
Main Street from Portland Street to Third Street
8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. (1.75 hours)
Third Street from Main Street to Binney Street
7:45 a.m. to 10 a.m. (2.25 hours)
Binney Street from Third Street to First Street
8 a.m. to 10 a.m. (2 hours)
