The City of Cambridge is increasing fees for on-street parking meters in Kendall Square. New meter rates will go into effect on a rolling basis throughout the area, between February 27 and March 22.
New rates will be $2 per hour throughout Kendall Square. If you pay in quarters, the first quarter will pay for eight minutes of parking and the second will pay for seven minutes. Previous rates ranged from $1 per hour to $1.50 per hour. This work will also involve upgrading some meter equipment.
During this period, your parking payment options will not change. Please follow directions on the meter if paying with coins or instructions on the Passport Parking app/website if paying with a mobile device. Check the white and green signs near your parking space to understand when payment is required.
