New Traffic Signal Installed at Mt. Auburn Street and Sparks Street
A new traffic signal was put into operation today at the intersection of Mt Auburn Street and Sparks Street. The new traffic signal aims to address yielding issues for people using the crosswalks across Mt Auburn Street, including reducing crash risk between drivers turning left out of Sparks Street and pedestrians using the crosswalk, as well as reducing a delay for drivers on Sparks Street during peak traffic periods. Additionally, it enhances connectivity to the upcoming Memorial Drive crosswalk near Sparks Street, part of the DCR Memorial Drive Phase III project. A virtual community meeting about the new traffic signal was held in July 2022.
