The Cambridge Commission on the Status of Women's (CCSW) strategic priorities are to:
- Champion equity and advancement for Cambridge women and girls through targeted advocacy, focused programming, public awareness initiatives, and meaningful community engagement to build a more just and vibrant community for all.
- Design and implement responsive programs that address a range of issues from racial justice to violence prevention and youth empowerment.
- Build strategic community partnerships that center women and girls while creating ripple effects of equity and opportunity throughout the Cambridge community.
- Convene diverse stakeholders to create collaborative solutions that advance gender equity and strengthen Cambridge.
- Serve as a resource hub by providing expert guidance, information, and connections to services for individuals, organizations, businesses, and City departments.
- Monitor reports of discrimination against women in Cambridge.
Ways to Get Involved
- Internships. The Women's Commission occasionally accepts graduate students to support our work on a project-by-project basis. For more information, email womenscommission@Cambridgema.gov.
- Commission Membership. Members of the Cambridge Commission on the Status of Women are appointed by the Cambridge City Manager and are responsible for supporting the Executive Director in accomplishing the Commission’s goals. When CCSW has a vacancy, it is promoted and also posted on the Boards and Commissions vacancy page of the City of Cambridge Open Meeting Portal.
