Families with Children ages 4-8: Pilot a New Math App!

Calling All Young Mathematicians! Through the Early Childhood Math Group, comprised of the Cambridge STEAM Initiative, DHSP PreschoolsMathTalk, Cambridge Public Schools' Math Department, Cambridge Office of Early Childhood, Agenda for Children Literacy Initiative, and the Cambridge Public Library, we are supporting Cambridge children to recognize that math is all around us, foster positive math mindsets, and become life-long math learners.

As part of this mission, we are seeking families to pilot a new app, Math! Everywhere!, created by MathTalk for children ages 4-8. In this game, you'll enjoy interactive math tasks and fun augmented reality activities, all while exploring your Cambridge neighborhood. You'll also earn virtual currency that you can spend within the community!

What will you be doing? Families will be asked to use the app with their child for 1 hour a week over the course of 4 weeks.

When and how long? The pilot will start in August and will end in September.

Compensation? Families will gain “MathBuck$,” virtual currency that can be exchanged for merchandise at local businesses.

How do I sign-up? Fill out this MathTalk's Interest Form

In addition to the piloting the Math! Everywhere! app, the Early Childhood Math Group is collaborating on Math@Home activities for caregivers with preschool-aged children and developing STEAM Library kits that feature early childhood math games, activities and books. Stay tuned for more information about these initiatives!
