- Hackney Licenses (Taxi Cab) are issued by the Cambridge License Commission and are governed by the Special Acts 1922 ch. 95 and Cambridge Regulations & Ordinances, ch. 5.20.
- Jitney Permits are issued by the Cambridge License Commission and governed by Massachusetts General Law (MGL) Ch. 159A, sec. 1, Cambridge Ordinance Ch. 5.20.360, and Acts of 1930,Ch. 122. The approval process typically takes 45 days for the License Commission decision and 60 days for the City Council decision

Letting of Motor Vehicle Licenses (Vehicle Rental businesses) are issued by the Cambridge License Commission and governed by Massachusetts General Law, Special Acts of 1930, ch. 121. It takes approximately 4 to 6 weeks to process licenses.

Livery/Limousine Licenses are issued by the Cambridge License Commission and governed by Massachusetts General Law, Special Acts of 1930, ch. 121. It takes approximately four to six weeks for licenses to be processed.

Used Car Dealer Class I, II, III Licenses are issued by the Cambridge License Commission and governed by Massachusetts General Law ch. 140 sec. 57-59. It takes approximately four to six weeks to process licenses.
