Description
On Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., we will hold our first virtual community meeting to discuss the Safety Improvement Project on Cambridge Street. Click here to view the project website.
As part of this project, the City will add separated bike lanes to Cambridge Street between Inman Square and Second Street. This will include quick-build changes to the street with new pavement markings, traffic signs, and flex-posts. It will also include the reconstruction of some existing curb ramps, accommodations for outdoor dining, and improvements to bus stops. These changes will require the city to reduce on-street parking to one side of the street at a time.
At this virtual meeting, we will introduce the project, provide background on related City policies and plans, talk about what we know about the project so far, and leave time for public comment. We are currently in the planning stages for this project and do not yet have a plan for the street. Your feedback now will help guide us as we develop concepts for community review.
