Description
Meet Your Neighbor Day is a chance to get to build connections and community in a fun way!
With events taking place between September 9 and September 17, there are many opportunities for people across Cambridge.
Recognizing the power of grassroots, locally-based connections,
Meet Your Neighbor Day is convened by the
Cambridge Peace Commission and cosponsored by the
Citizens Committee on Civic Unity, It's a Cambridge-specific approach to building connections and community in our amazing city – built on the success of two national initiatives – and adapted to fit the needs of our city! Meet Your Neighbor Day invites people to plan something that can bring together their neighbors — in a way that
works for them!
The map below shows all the events that have been planned so far this year.
Click on an item to see the details, or click on the box in the upper-right corner of the map below to open the map in a new window and see a list of the events. (These are not organized by the Peace Commission or the City of Cambridge.)
The City of Cambridge has made it much easier to hold Block Parties!
There's no application fee and the City of Cambridge offers $200 awards and free Play Streets kits to support your celebration (supplies are limited). Visit www.cambridgema.gov/blockparty for information and to apply (and make sure it’s at least 14 days before your event).
Whether you want to create and organize something, or you're looking for a chance to connect with your neighbors, Meet Your Neighbor Day is a perfect opportunity!
