Pride Planning Meeting Agenda

  1. Call to order 
  2. Assign minute taker 
  3. Recap of Commission meeting with Mayor 
  4. New Business 
    1. Theme (from meeting brainstorm) 
      • “We have always been here”  
      • “Still here, still proud” 
      • “An injury to one of us is an injury to all.” 
    2. Historical exhibit/ program (from meeting brainstorm) 
      1. Prompt response- Share a brief historical context about the LGBTQ+ movement in Cambridge and beyond, highlighting key milestones and struggles.   

        Commissioners and/or community members can share personal stories or experiences, tying them to themes of resistance, resilience, and solidarity.  
      2. Display historical photos and materials on posters around City Hall the event to educate attendees. 
    3. Entertainment 
      1. Performances from local artists and musicians (LONGY, Boston Conservatory, Berklee) 
      2. Richard Paris Scott- https://www.richardparrisscott.com/ (reached out to offer to perform at Pride for reasonable price) 
    4. Activities 
      1. Play Streets Kits for young children 
      2. Craft station 
      3. Face painting and balloon animals? 
    5. Food Options  
      1. Ice cream Truck  
      2. Taco Bar (Felipe’s)  
    6. Resource Fair 
      1. Trans Emergency Fund, CHA Sexual and Reproductive Health, Fenway Health, MTPC, Project 10, who else?
