      We invite children and their caregivers for 20-25 minutes of stories and songs. Designed for children 18 months to 3 years and their caregivers. This program can accommodate 45 people. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. The entire party must be present to receive a ticket. This program starts promptly.       Jam out during this Cambridge Cooks installment, as Afton Cyrus of Jam Sessions teaches participants how to make mulled cider jam using local apples. Cambridge Cooks invites local chefs for a free cooking demonstration, followed by a tasting and Q&A with the chef. About the chef: Afton Cyrus is a freelance food editor and recipe developer based in Arlington, MA whose work appears in print and online for America's Test Kitchen, Serious Eats, and Ten Speed Press. After working for a decade in education, Afton pivoted to pursue her passion for food professionally in 2014. She launched her own small business, Jam Sessions, through which teaches home canning and preserving workshops, including as an instructor at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts. Her experience with recipe development for Jam Sessions led to an 8-year career at America's Test Kitchen, where she created and edited content for multiple New York Times Bestselling and IACP Award-winning cookbooks, including Foolproof Preserving, Bread Illustrated, The Complete Cookbook for Young Chefs, and The Complete Baking Book for Young Chefs. Her areas of expertise include home canning and preserving, baking, kid- and family-friendly recipes, and seasonal New England cuisine.
