Over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Public Health Department, and our partners have been working to protect the health and safety of those who live and work in Cambridge. The wide availability of vaccines beginning in the spring of 2021 gave us an important tool for helping to stop the spread of the virus. While Cambridge has strong vaccination numbers, the highly contagious Delta variant is prevalent, and we can’t let our guard down.
The City and Public Health Department will continue to:
- Provide updated COVID-19 information on our website and in our Daily Updates email;
- Conduct contract tracing and case investigation (in partnership with the state’s Community Tracing Collaborative) to inform residents that they may have been exposed to COVID-19 through close contact with an infected person, and to support positive residents through their isolation period;
- Support the Cambridge Public Schools in keeping staff and students safe;
- Monitor outbreaks and report any clusters of concern to the community;
- Offer flu vaccination clinics as we move into flu season;
- Offer COVID-19 vaccines at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School;
- Plan to educate residents about COVID-19 booster shots. CPHD has notified the state of our interest in administering Pfizer and Moderna booster vaccines once they are recommended by the CDC and available at the local level.
Residents are reminded to get tested if they believe they may have been exposed to COVID-19:
