Due to high demand at the November 10 vaccination clinic, and in order to ensure those who received their first dose can receive their second dose on December 1, walk-in COVID-19 vaccine and flu shots will not be available at the December 1 clinic.
All appointment slots for COVID-19 and flu vaccines on December 1 have either been filled or are reserved for people who received their first COVID-19 vaccine at the November 10 clinic. New registrations are only available for individuals who received a COVID-19 vaccine at the November 10 clinic and have not yet registered for their second dose.
The Cambridge Public Health Department and city partners plan to hold additional COVID-19 vaccination clinics early this winter. For residents seeking vaccination sooner, CPHD recommends scheduling an appointment at a local pharmacy or at the Cambridge Health Alliance Vaccine Center in Somerville (176 Somerville Ave, near Target). The CHA Somerville Vaccine Center offers pediatric and adult COVID-19 vaccines (including boosters) and flu vaccine. You can register for an appointment or can walk in during clinic hours. To find other COVID-19 vaccine locations, visit www.vaxfinder.ma.gov or call 2-1-1 for assistance over the phone.
For residents who have confirmed appointments for the December 1 clinic, please see below for additional information:
- The clinic will be held from 3:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m. at the King Open School, 850 Cambridge Street, in East Cambridge.
- Nurses will be available to speak with anyone who has COVID-19 or flu vaccine questions.
- Please remember to wear a mask. We also recommend wearing a short-sleeved shirt under layers as it makes it faster and easier to administer the vaccine.
- No ID, Social Security Number, or health insurance is needed for the free vaccines. However, if you have a health insurance card, please bring it with you.
If you received your first COVID-19 vaccine dose at the November 10 clinic at King Open and are not yet scheduled for dose 2 on December 1, please check your email or text messages for a registration link. If you did not receive a link, please call the Cambridge Public Health Department at 617-665-3826 and leave a message.
