If you paid for funeral costs for someone who died from COVID-19 after January 20, 2020, FEMA’s Funeral Assistance Program may be able to help by providing up to $9,000 for expenses. The program will cover many types of costs, including:
- The use of a funeral home equipment or staff
- Clergy or officiant services
- Cremation or burial costs
- The transfer of remains or transportation to identify a deceased individual
