The City of Cambridge today announced that it will be offering COVID-19 vaccine booster clinics by appointment only for eligible people aged 18 and older who live or work in Cambridge beginning on Thursday, December 9 and continuing on Monday, December 13 and Thursday, December 16 while supplies last.
These clinics will offer only the Moderna booster and will take place at the City’s COVID-19 testing site on the third floor inside the CambridgeSide mall during regular testing hours from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
"Getting vaccinated and getting your booster dose are important to help keep yourself, your family, and your community safe,” said Mayor Sumbul Siddiqui and City Manager Louis A. DePasquale in a joint statement. “We want to thank the Cambridge Pandemic Collaborative for working so quickly to make these clinics possible to help residents access booster shots, and we look forward to offering more options in the coming weeks.”
Those interested in getting a booster shot can learn more and book an appointment here.
Residents are eligible for a booster if they received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine and it has been at least 6 months since your second dose. Residents who got the Johnson & Johnson vaccine are also eligible if it’s been at least 2 months since their first dose. As a reminder, residents can mix and match vaccines and do not need to get the same vaccine brand for their booster as they did for their original COVID-19 vaccination.
The testing and vaccine site are located on the third floor inside the CambridgeSide mall. Please use the escalator near the Cheesecake Factory on the CambridgeSide Place end of the mall or take the elevator to go to the 3rd level. Free parking is available in the lower level of the parking garage and the entrance is located on CambridgeSide Place.
The City and Cambridge Pandemic Collaborative are currently planning for continued vaccination and booster dose clinics, and more information will be posted at www.cambridgema.gov/covid19 when it is available.
All residents 5 years of age and older are encouraged to get vaccinated and get a booster dose, when eligible. To find a vaccine location near you, visit https://vaxfinder.mass.gov.
