Dance Party Returns With One of Its Biggest Crowds

Wednesday, December 13, 2023
  • The Dance Party was on a three-year hiatus because of COVID-19.

  • The 2023 party featured an expanded event area.

The 2023 Dance Party returned to great fanfare in June after a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The free dance extravaganza had a DJ playing fun music, family activities, colorful lights, and thousands of residents. One of the biggest ever — thanks to an expanded event area — the Dance Party once again provided a special opportunity for the entire Cambridge community to gather and celebrate the start of summer.

Hosting this special event required support from numerous city departments and their staffs, including the City Manager’s Office; Cambridge Arts; the Cambridge Community Safety Department; Cambridge Traffic, Parking, and Transportation; the Community Development Department; the Electrical Department; Public Works; 22 CityView; the Department of Human Services’ Council on Aging; and valued partners at the Central Square BID.
