Bicycle Education

Community Development

The City offers bicycle education workshops throughout the year. The workshops are free to those who work, live, or study in Cambridge, and every participant receives a free helmet each year. Bicycle education is an important part of the City's mission to encourage sustainable transportation and ensure that people know how to bike safely. It's also a key component of the City's Vision Zero strategy, which seeks to eliminate all traffic fatalities and severe injuries while increasing safe, healthy, and equitable mobility for all.

The City offers the following bicycle education workshops throughout the year:

  • Bicycle Maintenance Basics & Beyond Basics
  • On-Bike Refresher Course
  • Riding with Families
  • Rules of the Road
  • Urban Cycling Basics
  • Winter Biking Basics
  • Women-Powered Biking
