Learn English at the CLC

CLC ESOL teacherDo you want to learn to read, write, and speak English better? The Cambridge Community Learning Center (CLC) has English classes for Cambridge residents. We have over 26 English classes as part of our English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Program.

Students from more than 65 countries take English classes at the CLC. You must live in Cambridge to take English classes at the CLC.

 

Our program offers:

  • 6 levels of English classes, including basic literacy.
  • 10-month minimum of study
  • Classes in two locations - Central Square and North Cambridge
  • Access to conversation and computer classes
  • Special classes for people over 60 years old and for people with children

Sign up for an ESOL Information Session

When you come to an information session, please bring a document that shows your Cambridge address. This can be a piece of mail, lease, driver's license, or something that has your address on it. If you stay in a homeless shelter in Cambridge, you can bring a letter from the program.  

Class Schedule

Choose to take morning or evening classes. 

  • Morning Schedule:  9 a.m. - 12 p.m., 2-3 days a week
  • Evening Schedule: 6:15 - 9:15 p.m., 2 days a week. 

Locations

Classes are offered in the Community Learning Center's two locations:

  • Central Square (5 Western Ave.)
  • North Cambridge: (286 Rindge Ave.)
