Join us for Stories from the Lunch Counter, the 39th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Sunday, Jan. 12, at 3 p.m., at Cambridge Public Library Lecture Hall, 449 Broadway.

Civil rights scholar and filmmaker Judy Richardson headlines our annual celebration of the life and work of Dr. King. Professor Richardson was a staff worker with the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) for three years in the early 1960s in Georgia, Mississippi and Alabama. She has lectured and conducted teacher workshops on the modern Civil Rights Movement and its relevance to issues today. As a filmmaker, she was Series Associate Producer and Education Director for the Academy Award-nominated PBS series, Eyes on the Prize.
