Thursday, March 6, 2014 is the seventh annual White Ribbon Day Campaign. Founded locally by Jane Doe Inc., Massachusetts White Ribbon Day is part of an international effort to engage more men and boys to prevent violence against women. Sexual assault and domestic violence occur at an alarming rate and the impact touches all members of our community. At the heart of the campaign are individual men who take the White Ribbon pledge and become involved on local and statewide levels. The impact of thousands of men from all walks of life declaring their commitment to this principle of non-violence will be far-reaching and long-lasting.
We hope Cambridge men will also Take the Pledge and become part of the solution in ending violence against women.
In Cambridge, The Men’s Health Team provided a video and information for a homeroom class discussion at CRLS this morning and will be distributing white ribbons there at lunchtime.
Cambridge Health Alliance will make white ribbons available at the following Cambridge locations:
- Cambridge Hospital, Macht Building, 1493 Cambridge St. (See Vincenzo Teran)
- Windsor Street Health Center, 119 Windsor St. (See Michele Klau)
- Cambridge Family Health North, (Porter Square), 2067 Mass. Ave. (See Melissa Coco)
- Cambridge Family Health (Inman Square), 237 Hampshire St.
