Girls Leadership Group

City Councillor E. Denise Simmons in collaboration with Cambridge YWCA and other Community Partners, is reactivating a Leadership Group for 8th Grade Girls, which she had previously established as Mayor of Cambridge in 2008.

The monthly program, which will provide life and leadership skills to help guide participants on a path toward future success, is scheduled to kick off in the 2014-15 School Year. Space will be limited to approximately 40 participants who will be meeting and learning from a diverse cast of strong, local female business, political and civic leaders. Meeting topics under consideration include high school and college preparation; preparing for different career paths; learning proper social etiquette; learning about proper online and smart phone etiquette; dressing for success; and learning about the benefits of civic engagement and networking.

For more information about this program, contact Councilor Simmons at dsimmons@cambridgema.gov, or 617.349.4277.
