The Cambridge Police Department is seeking donations for its 8th annual “Secret Santa for Seniors” gift drive. Donations will be accepted through Thursday, Dec. 18 and gifts can be dropped off in the main lobby of the Robert W. Healy Public Safety Facility, 125 Sixth St. or on the first floor at Cambridge City Hall, 795 Mass. Ave.
Last year’s gift drive was the department’s most successful yet, as more than 500 senior citizens received holiday gift bags due to the generous support from the community. The Cambridge Police are looking to bring cheer to even more senior citizens this year.
Help the Cambridge Police Department put a smile on a senior’s face this year when they’re surprised with a holiday gift bag on Christmas Eve by donating an item to our annual Secret Santa for Seniors Gift Drive!
The following suggested items – unwrapped – would be greatly appreciated:
- Socks
- Slippers
- Hats
- Gloves
- Blankets
- Food and personal care items
- Tea
- Gift cards
If members of the community are interested, the Cambridge Police Department is also seeking volunteers on the morning of December 24th to hand deliver gift bags to the seniors.
If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please contact Sgt. Kale or Officer Burroso at 617-349-9354 or e-mail communityrelations@cambridgepolice.org.
The Cambridge Police Department offers its sincerest gratitude to the Cambridge Housing Authority, Whole Foods Market at Fresh Pond, Vineyard Church, Mount Auburn Hospital, CambridgeSide Galleria Mall, Professional Ambulance, Phil’s Towing, Cambridge Police Department Unions and the generous support from the community for their donations and making this special program an ongoing success.
