The O’Connell Branch will close for extensive renovation on June 25, 2015. We look forward to re-opening a much-improved facility in the fall! As always, Library staff will be delighted to serve you at any of the other six Cambridge Public Library locations.
During the renovation, Summer Reading programs that would have taken place at O’Connell on Thursdays will take place at the nearby Valente Branch, located at 826 Cambridge Street.
Though the Valente Branch is normally closed on Thursdays, the O’Connell Branch staff will open the Valente Branch from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Thursdays from July 2 to August 27.
The Library is grateful to the City of Cambridge and the Cambridge Historical Commission for their funding and recognition of the importance of the O’Connell Branch to the community.

After June 28, the Main Library will be closed on Sundays. Sunday hours will resume in the fall.
