Every year, hundreds of millions of people around the world switch off their lights for one designated hour to demonstrate a commitment to fighting climate change. This year, Earth Hour takes place on Saturday, March 24, from 8:30 - 9:30 p.m.
The City of Cambridge will participate in the worldwide Earth Hour Celebration by turning off the lights at City Hall, the Cambridge Public Library at 449 Broadway, and other municipal buildings.
We encourage local businesses, organizations, and households to switch off their lights for the designated hour to show solidarity and raise awareness about efforts to combat climate change.
Other local and notable participants include BioMed Realty the Empire State Building, the Space Needle, the Philadelphia Zoo.
