Cambridge Celebrates Public Health Week

Please join the Cambridge Public Health Department in celebrating National Public Health Week and the many ways that all of us are working to creating healthier communities in Massachusetts. Cambridge events include:

Public Health Poster Gallery, Cambridge City Hall April 2-12
A poster gallery on display at Cambridge City Hall, 795 Mass. Ave., showcases local progress in addressing the City’s four health priorities:
  • Healthy Eating and Active Living; 
  • Substance Abuse and Mental Health; 
  • Violence; 
  • Healthy, Safe, and Affordable Housing. 

15th Annual Real World Public Health April 4
A professional development symposium for graduate students in public health, sponsored by the Cambridge Public Health Department. Real World Public Health will be held at the Windsor Street Care Center (119 Windsor Street) on Wednesday, April 4 from 8 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. This year’s keynote speaker is Robert P. Marlin, MD, PhD, MPH, Director of Community Health Engagement and the Refugee Health Assessment Program, Cambridge Health Alliance. Open to public health graduate students and medical residents.

National Public Health Week (NPHW) is observed during the first full week of April, and has been celebrated by communities across the United States since 1995. Organized by the American Public Health Association, NPHW is an opportunity to recognize the contributions of public health and highlight issues that are important to improving the nation's health.
