This evening's program has been postponed. A new date will be announced soon.
In celebration of Black History Month, the City of Cambridge Employees' Committee on Diversity welcomes Dr. Chris Pernell for a virtual discussion about health. A newly rescheduled date for this program, originally scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 2, from 6:00-7:30 p.m., will be announced soon.
Dr. Pernell is a dynamic physician leader and social change agent. In her public health practice, she focuses on health justice, community-based advocacy, and health promotion and disease prevention. Working as a senior executive in a hospital in Newark, New Jersey, she oversees a portfolio that includes Population Health, Strategic Planning, Community Affairs, and the Human Experience. Of note, her role was created to lead the hospital’s first health equity and inclusion strategy in an integrated fashion across multiple business units. Prior to joining this academic medical center, she led the Workplace and Community Health Program at the 1199SEIU/League Labor Management Initiatives (LMI). Working with 1199SEIU leaders and frontline workers and partners across NYC healthcare institutions, her efforts centered on workplace health strategies, worker empowerment, health equity, and health system transformation.
This program is cosponsored by the Cambridge Public Library, the Mayor's Office, and the Cambridge City Manager’s Office.
