Looking for an opportunity to serve your community in the field of public safety? The City of Cambridge Emergency Communications Department (ECD), which operates the city's 911 Call Center, is seeking Emergency Telecommunications Dispatchers and will be hosting two virtual open houses on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 10:00 a.m. and Monday, Feb. 28, at 7:00 p.m.
Emergency Telecommunications Dispatchers (ETD) deliver an essential service to the community; they provide public safety communications for fire, police, EMS, and utility services as well as answer and process emergency 9-1-1 and non-emergency calls for service. Due to the complex and highly demanding nature of emergency communications, the Cambridge Emergency Communications Department requires candidates to successfully complete a series of examinations to assess their abilities and aptitudes for the ETD position. A dedicated guide has been designed to help prepare candidates to successfully complete the hiring, screening, and testing processes to become an Emergency Telecommunications Dispatcher for the City of Cambridge.
To register for one of the virtual open houses, Email 911info@cambridge911.org or call 617-349-6911. For more information, also visit the ECD website at www.cambridge911.org.
