The City of Cambridge is proud to participate in Bike Month. This May, celebrate with us as we host bike rides, workshops, and tuneups, as well as partner with many community groups on their own Bike Month events.

  • Kennedy Longfellow Spring Fling: Saturday, May 4, 11AM to 2PM, 158 Spring Street. Come decorate bikes and scooters with us! A free family and child focused event for the neighborhood and Kennedy Longfellow School. Featuring entertainers, games, craft and activity tables, inflatable obstacle course, snacks, Aquarium touch tank, face painting and more. 
  • Family Biking Kick-Start: Sunday, May 5, 11AM to 4PM, Corporal Burns Park. Bike safety checks, workshops, and much more. This is a community-led initiative.
  • Women-Powered Cycling Workshop: Saturday, May 11, 12PM to 1:30PM, Cambridge Public Library, Main Branch. Learn the basics of riding in an urban area with us. To register, email transportation@cambridgema.gov
  • University Park Bike Breakfast: Monday, May 13, 7:30AM to 9:30AM, 300 Mass Ave. Ride by and get some free breakfast, courtesy of the Charles River TMA.
  • Kendall Square Bike Breakfast, Wednesday, May 15, 7:30AM to 9:30AM, 155 Broadway. Ride by and get some free breakfast, courtesy of the Charles River TMA.
  • Harvard University Bike Breakfast, Wednesday, May 15, 7:30AM to 9:30AM, Dudley House, Harvard Yard. Ride by and get some free breakfast, courtesy of Harvard CommuterChoice.
  • Spring Family Biking Night, Thursday, May 16, 4PM to 7PM, Collins Branch Library, 64 Aberdeen Ave. Join us for free bike safety tune-ups, educational materials, and bike workshops.
  • Coast the City Community Bike Ride, Saturday, May 18, 9:30AM (meet at 9AM), Main Library, 449 Broadway. Join us for our annual spring bike ride, hosted by the Cambridge Bicycle Committee.
  • Cambridge Fix It Clinic, Saturday, May 18, 11AM to 2PM, Main Library, 449 Broadway. Learn to fix your bike, as well as any other household goods that need fixing. This is a collaboration between DPW, the Cambridge Public Library, and CDD.  To register, click this link.
  • Alewife Bike Breakfast: Tuesday, May 22, 7:30AM to 9:30AM, Minuteman Bikeway behind the Alewife T Station. Ride by and get some free breakfast, courtesy of the Alewife TMA.
  • Walk/Ride Day Celebration, Friday, May 31, 8AM to 1PM, City Hall Sidewalk, 795 Mass Ave. Celebrate sustainable commuting with us and don't forget to log your commute!
