Bike Light Giveaways Begin This Week!

The Community Development Department Begins Annual Bike Light Giveaway Program!

Community Development Department (CDD) staff and Bike Committee members will distribute bike lights to riders who need them on the following dates (from 4-6PM) as part of our bike education program and Vision Zero efforts!

Dates

  • November 1: Central Square near Carl Barron Plaza
  • November 4: Inman Square near Springfield Street
  • November 7: Harvard Square near super crosswalk
  • November 8: Porter Square
  • November 15: Kendall Square
  • November 21: Main Library
  • December 12: Porter Square
  • December 14: Main Library (6-8PM)
  • December 15: Kendall Square (5-6PM)
  • December 20: Porter Square
  • January 6: Lechmere
  • January 16: Mass Ave near Linear Park [POSTPONED]

While we are prioritizing bicyclists who do not have bike lights on their bikes, we will have extras on hand for people who don't have their bikes when we are out, pending supplies. Here's to making sure more bicyclists have lights - let's stay safe and visible this winter!
