Cambridgeport School fire

caution sign The information on this page may be outdated as it was published 2 years ago.

On January 11th, a brutally cold and windy morning, a small fire in one room at the Cambridgeport School, 89 Elm St, was quickly extinguished by firefighters.

Due to the bitterly cold weather, evacuated students were quickly relocated to MBTA buses & city school buses to shelter from the extreme cold. Other students were temporarily relocated to the cafeteria and to the CRLS field house. The only minor injury was due to a slip and fall on the ice. The cause of the fire was accidental.

In the usual scope of our city teamwork, people of several city agencies worked together to keep the students and staff safe, moving them to safe and warm areas as soon as possible.
