NOTICE OF VOTE:
HALF PAYMENT OF ALCOHOL RENEWAL LICENSE FEE
On February 8, 2017, the Board of License Commissioners (the “Board”) voted to implement the following effective immediately:
To properly renew an alcohol license, the licensee must submit the renewal applications (state and local), supporting documentation and the renewal fee annually in the month of November. Currently, in Cambridge, licensees permitted to choose whether they want to pay the full amount or half of the amount of the alcohol license renewal fee in November. Licensees who choose to pay half of the amount in November, pay the other half in June.
Effective immediately and hereon after, the Board will only permit this practice for alcohol licenses that are in use at the time of renewals in November. Any alcohol license that is not in use or is in “inactive status,” at the time of renewals, must pay the full renewal fee when renewing in November. Failure to pay the full renewal fee for a license that is not in use or is in “inactive status,” will be considered a failure to properly renew the license and may subject the license to cancellation and/or revocation.
