Join the Council on Aging for an inspiring event at the North Cambridge Senior Center as we welcome Jean Duffy, Somerville-based author of Soccer Grannies: The South African Women Who Inspire the World. Jean will share the incredible true story of a team of 40 to 80-year-old women in rural South Africa who defy expectations by playing soccer, staying active, and building a strong, supportive community.
This captivating presentation, open to Cambridge residents ages 60 and older, will feature photos, storytelling, and an excerpt from the documentary Alive and Kicking: The Soccer Grannies in South Africa. Jean will share firsthand experiences about these remarkable women, and the event will conclude with a Q&A session where you can ask questions and join in the conversation.
