The Community Learning Center is offering a free Healthcare Career Prep Program in September. The 16-week course is designed for English language learners who wish to prepare for entrance into healthcare training programs for Certified Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide, Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, and other entry-level healthcare positions.

Classes will be held Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.  Students will increase their spoken English, reading comprehension skills and math skills; study medical topics and vocabulary; and master basic computer skills. They will also develop career awareness, job readiness and soft skills such as clear and concise communication and awareness of cultural differences.

To apply to the program or for more information, contact Pat Murphy, Transitions Coordinator, at pmurphy@cambridgema.gov or 617-349-6365.
