Mayor's Fire Relief Fund Accepting Donations

On July 27, 2014, a 9 Alarm fire displaced nine Cambridge families, including several children, from their homes and destroyed all of their personal belongings. Thankfully, none of the 29 people displaced from the buildings sustained injuries; however, they are in need of financial assistance to help recover.  

Like many renters, the residents affected do not have insurance to cover their loss.

Your donation to the Official City of Cambridge Mayor’s Disaster Relief Account will assist these families as they begin to recover from this tragedy.

Background: The Allston Street fire broke out in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 27, 2014.  The 9 Alarm fire started in the back of 159 Allston Street at about 3:20 a.m., and within minutes, swept through two nearby buildings at 151-155 Allston Street.
