Bow Tie Bike Ride Bikers

With National Bike Safety Month and Bay State Bike Week in May, Cambridge Police and Community Development departments are hosting/partnering in various events to increase the safety of all people who walk, cycle or drive. 

Bicycle Maintenance Basics
Monday, May 11, 11am-1pm
Agassiz Baldwin Community Center, 20 Sacramento St.
Cambridge Community Development Dept. is hosting this bicycle maintenance basics workshop and conversation to talk with people ages 50+ about barriers to bicycling in Cambridge. Join us for a light lunch, a free tune-up, and learn how to fix a flat! Please RSVP for workshops to jlawrence@cambridgema.gov.

Bike Lunch!
Tuesday, May 12, 12-2pm
Cambridge Public Library, 449 Broadway
Join the Cambridge Public Library and the Community Development Department as we celebrate Bike Week! We’ll have tasty treats, free bike tune-ups (11am-3pm), and fun games about transportation!

An Introduction to Hubway and Urban Cycling
Thursday, May 14, 3:30-5pm
344 Broadway, 2nd floor Conference Room
We’ll go over the rules of the road in Cambridge and learn how to use Hubway stations! Great for employees who want to start riding around town this spring, but haven’t yet used Hubway and/or want a refresher on the rules of the road. Please RSVP for workshops to jlawrence@cambridgema.gov.

On-Bicycle Refresher Course
Saturday, May 16, 2-6pm
Danehy Park, New Street Parking Lot
Are you a little rusty and want to get more practice riding a bicycle? This is the class for you. We’ll host a three hour training on bicycling in Cambridge, and then end up with an hour-long bicycle ride.  This class is for people who know how to ride a bicycle.  RSVP to jlawrence@cambridgema.gov required.  We will have bikes for you to use, if needed.
