2015 Municipal Election Nomination Papers Available

Cambridge City Hall

Nomination papers for City Council and School Committee will be available as of Wednesday, July 1 at the Cambridge Election Commission office, 51 Inman St.  The office will be open on Wednesday, July 1 from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.  The deadline to file nomination papers is Friday, July 31st at 5 p.m.  The 2015 Municipal Election Calendar is posted on the Commission’s website: www.cambridgema.gov/election .

The requirements to run for City Council or School Committee are:

1. The person must be a registered voter in Cambridge.  To register, one must be 18 years of age by Election Day, a U.S. citizen and a resident of the City of Cambridge. 

2. The person must file no fewer 50 and no more than 100 certifiable signatures of registered voters in the City of Cambridge.

The Election Commission has prepared an information kit for candidates containing important dates, Commission policies, services and publications.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2015.
