What is Fresh Pond Day?
Fresh Pond Reservation is truly Cambridge's green gem - an urban wild that protects Fresh Pond, Cambridge's in-city drinking water reservoir. Fresh Pond Day is the Cambridge Water Department's annual tribute to this unique Reservation that is a vital natural resource, an invaluable sanctuary for wildlife, and a beloved recreational escape in the City. So...let's give Fresh Pond the celebration, jubilation and love it deserves; join in the festivities! Live wildlife presentations, a wildlife and bike parade, live music, facepainting, truck climb-aboards, tours and more will abound, and - it's free and open to all!

Where & When?
Saturday, June 11, from 11am - 3pm, Water Purification Facility at Fresh Pond Reservation, 250 Fresh Pond Parkway, Cambridge.

Schedule Highlights!
11:00am to 1pm - Stiltwalking with Open Air Circus
11:30am - Nature stories with Doria Hughes @ the Kid Zone
11:30am - Wildflower Walkabout - meets at the New England Wildflower Society table
12:30pm - WILDLIFE PARADE! Feel free to bring a costume - sign and mask-making will be offered
1:00 - 2:00pm Live wildlife demonstration with Mass Audubon
1:00 - Water Purification Facility tour (open house all day!)
1:30 - Beehive Talk and Tour at Lusitania Meadow
1:30 - Native Plant Identification session @ NEWFS Table
2:00 - BIKE PARADE! Decorate your bike with flair all morning! Kicks off in Parking Lot.
2:00 - Nature Drawing workshop!

Live music by local bands: Do Mi Soul, Spooky Ghosts, TromBoston, and Trail Mix!

All-Day Festivities
Story Walk, book giveaways, tap-water taste-test, recycle toss, seedling giveaway, Fix-a-Leak, Touch-a-Truck, birdhouse decorating, beehive talk & tour, water purification facility tour, wildflower walk, human-nature dictionary activity, face-painting, bike repairs, helmet giveaways, a bicycle-powered lightbulb, pedicab rides, and more!

How do I get there?
Bus routes 72, 74, 75, 78; & Alewife T are all nearby. We are also on the parkway bike path - which is recommended, so you can join the bike parade! If you are driving, please park at the Tobin School (197 Vassal Lane).
