In response to the humanitarian crisis in Puerto Rico, Mayor E. Denise Simmons and the City of Cambridge have established a relief effort through the Mayor’s Disaster Relief Fund.
Financial donations to this fund will support the recovery process for residents from four municipalities in Puerto Rico: Coamo, Jayuya, Orocovis, and Salinas.
Cambridge has a long history of Puerto Ricans from these communities making Cambridge their home. Coamo, Jayuya, Orocovis, and Salinas are small rural communities located in the southern part of the island, an area identified as one of the hardest to reach regions.
Donations can be made online, in person at Cambridge City Hall (795 Massachusetts Avenue), or by mail. Checks can be made payable to:
