In observance of the Labor Day Holiday on Monday, September 6, City of Cambridge offices, libraries, and senior centers will be closed. Curbside collection of trash, recycling, compost, and yard waste will be suspended, and one day behind for the rest of the week. Regularly scheduled street cleaning routes for September 6 were previously swept. Payments will not be required at City of Cambridge parking meters and parking meter pay stations.

The Cambridge Consumers’ Council will be helping residents safely dispose of unwanted records at a free document Shred Day on Saturday, September 18, 2021, from 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., in front of Cambridge City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Avenue. This free event will be held rain or shine, for Cambridge residents only.

The City of Cambridge issued an emergency order requiring that face masks or coverings be worn in indoor public places. The order takes effect at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, September 3, 2021. It applies to everyone over the age of two years old, with exceptions in alignment with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health guidelines.
