    Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House is partnering with Cambridge Health Alliance for a COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic on Saturday, August 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. during the 17th Annual Port Pride event. The clinic will be located at 71 Cherry Street. Everyone ages 12 and over is welcome to get a free Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, regardless of immigration status. No ID or health insurance is needed.

  • Cambridge Public Health Department Shares Information about COVID-19 Cases Linked to Summer Program

    The Cambridge Public Health Department (CPHD) recently identified 32 cases likely connected to a children’s summer program in Cambridge. Of these cases, 20 were among students attending the program (all under age12); 3 were among staff and interns; and 9 were among household contacts of staff and students. Children and staff in the summer program were following proper mitigation measures, including wearing masks and washing their hands frequently. Several cases associated with the cluster were sequenced and identified as Delta variant cases.

  • Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day Saturday, August 21

    The City of Cambridge will hold its next Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Day for 2021 on Saturday, August 21, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., at 65 Waverly Street. To access the event, please enter from Brookline Street, as eastbound travel will be prohibited on Henry, Chestnut and Putnam streets, from Sidney Street to Waverly Street. Additional HHW collection dates in 2021 include October 30.

  • City of Cambridge to Open Cooling Center for Residents during Extreme Heat Event

    To provide opportunities for residents to stay out of the extreme heat this week, the City of Cambridge is opening a cooling center beginning on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, and welcoming people to come cool down in certain city buildings. Given the concerns about the highly contagious delta variant and the potential for fully vaccinated people to transmit the virus, the Cambridge Public Health Department recommends that residents—vaccinated and not—wear a mask when indoors outside the home.
