The City of Cambridge and Cambridge Public Health Department (CPHD) will continue to offer free COVID-19 testing for Cambridge residents 4 days per week on with modified hours Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The site at 50 Church St. that previously offered testing will be discontinued beginning in June.
The Planning Board reviews proposals for urban development under the special permit provisions of the Cambridge Zoning Ordinance and Chapter 40A of the Massachusetts General Laws, makes recommendations to the City Council on proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance, and engages in general planning related to land use and development in the city.

The Baker-Polito Administration today announced plans to close the Commonwealth’s vaccine preregistration system by the end of May. The COVID-19 Vaccine Finder at vaxfinder.mass.gov will remain available, with over 900 locations listed across the state. The Administration also announced the expansion of the state’s Homebound Vaccination Program to support in-home vaccinations for all eligible residents who are unable to get to a vaccine site, beginning Monday, May 24.
The City of Cambridge announced that, with the Commonwealth's State of Emergency ending on June 15, 2021, and the significant improvements in public health metrics, it will align with the Commonwealth in lifting the City’s remaining COVID-19 restrictions on Saturday, May 29, 2021 and will rescind its March 19, 2020 Declaration of Public Health Emergency in Cambridge effective June 15, 2021. Due to the rescission of the City’s Declaration of Public Health Emergency, the City’s Temporary Eviction Moratorium as amended on July 23, 2020 will also be rescinded, effective June 15, 2021.
The Cambridge Police are conducting an active investigation after there was a ShotSpotter activation and reports for gunshots in the area of Cherry and Harvard Street early this morning at approximately 12:10 a.m.
The City of Cambridge Pandemic Collaborative is offering a vaccine clinic on Sunday, May 23 at CambridgeSide Mall using the Johnson & Johnson Vaccine. This clinic is free and open to all people 18 years of age and older who live and work in Cambridge.
The Cambridge Clean Heat program helps residents learn about clean heating and cooling solutions and access no-cost technical advice. An informational webinar for residents is scheduled for May 26, at 7pm.
In observance of the Memorial Day Holiday on Monday, May 31, curbside collection of trash, recycling, compost and yard waste will be suspended and will be one day behind for the remainder of the week. Street cleaning will not occur on Monday, May 31.
