  • COVID-19 Emergency and Recovery Grants for Cambridge Nonprofit Organizations

    The intent of this funding is to provide COVID-19 related assistance and critical supports to the vulnerable and at-risk Cambridge families and individuals served by Cambridge nonprofit organizations. The nonprofits are a critical resource to support vulnerable residents and this is especially true during the coronavirus pandemic.

  • DPW Presidents Day Holiday Service Schedule

    Curbside collections will be suspended on Monday, February 15, 2021 in observance of the President’s Day holiday. Curbside collection of trash, recycling, and compost will be one day behind schedule for the rest of that week. Street cleaning is suspended for the winter season and resumes in April 2021.

  • Information on the Massachusetts Vaccine Scheduling Resource Line at 2-1-1

    The Massachusetts Vaccine Scheduling Resource Line at 2-1-1 is now available in English and Spanish and will have translators available to support residents in approximately 100 additional languages. Please call 2-1-1 and follow prompts to reach The Massachusetts Vaccine Scheduling Resource Line. Individuals ages 75 and older will be able to speak to a representative live on the phone to assist them with an appointment through the state’s online system.
  • City of Cambridge to Follow Governor's Capacity Increases for Phase III, Step 1 Sectors on Monday, February 8

    On February 4, 2021, the Governor of Massachusetts announced that as of Monday, February 8, 2021, the capacity limits for certain businesses will increase from the current 25% to 40%.  After careful consideration, the City of Cambridge will follow the increase but will continue to monitor and amend if necessary in the interest of the public’s safety. The City of Cambridge previously announced that it will be returning to Phase III, Step 1 effective on Monday, February 8 at 12:00 a.m.
  • Baker-Polito Administration Launches Vaccine Public Awareness Campaign, New Call Center for Residents 75 and Older

    The COVID-19 Vaccine Scheduling Resource Line is a dedicated telephone line available to residents 75 and older. The call center will be staffed with over 500 representatives who can provide live phone support to assist residents with booking an appointment. The line will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. Live call center workers will be available in English and Spanish, and 100 additional languages will be available through translators. Call center workers will have the same access to appointments that users will see on the public website. The line can be accessed by dialing 2–1–1 and selecting the prompt for “Help Scheduling a Vaccine Appointment.”
  • Clarendon Ave. Playground Now Open

    The City of Cambridge announced the reopening of the Clarendon Avenue Playground in North Cambridge.

  • Baker-Polito Administration Increases Capacity Limits for Businesses and Other Activities

    The Administration announced that effective Monday, February 8th at 5:00 AM, businesses can operate at 40% capacity. This is an increase from an existing order limiting capacity to 25% for many businesses that expires Monday.
  • Harvard Square Advisory Committee Call for Members

    The Harvard Square Advisory Committee reviews and comments on land use and development proposals in the Harvard Square Overlay District per the Cambridge Zoning Ordinance (Section 20.54). The committee conducts Large Project Review consultations and comments on applications for variances and special permits from the Planning Board and Board of Zoning Appeal (BZA), as well as other proposals.
  • Clarendon Avenue Playground Reopens Following Completion of Improvements

    Located at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Clarendon Avenue, the park features an improved entry plaza and seating area, and also includes a greater variety of play opportunities with the addition of swings, a water table to accompany the relocated sand play area, and loose play materials to encourage creative play. Other features include the addition of new furniture, a new rubberized surface and shade structure.
