In accordance with the conditions of the Department of Environmental Protection's (DEP) Alewife Brook/Upper Mystic River Variance, we are hereby notifying you that a Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) occurred at CAM401B on AUGUST 23, 2020 and discharged into the Alewife Brook.
One of Cambridge’s earliest actions in response to the emerging public health crisis was Mayor Sumbul Siddiqui and City Manager Louis A. DePasquale activating the Mayor’s Disaster Relief Fund to provide emergency assistance to individuals and families in Cambridge experiencing extreme financial hardship. Since March, more than $4.7 million in donations have been received from hundreds of generous residents and local corporations.
The Early Voting locations are open through Friday (August 28, 2020) from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. We urge voters who have not requested a vote-by-mail ballot to take advantage of the early voting option. It has been relatively quiet at the three locations, there are no lines, you’ll be in and out in minutes.
The vote-by-mail ballot request deadline is today, August 26, at 5 p.m. The vote-by-mail ballot request applications must be in the possession of the Election Office by 5 p.m
These ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2020. Voters can either return their ballots by mail or place them in the drop box located at 51 Inman Street.
In an effort to support local businesses and their customers, the City of Cambridge instituted two new initiatives in partnership with organizations and restaurants across the city, including the Cambridge Office for Tourism, Cambridge Local First, Central Square Business Improvement District, East Cambridge Business Association, Harvard Square Business Association, and Kendall Square Association.
