As part of this year’s initiative, public safety agencies in the City of Cambridge are stressing the importance of subscribing to the city's alert network, Smart911 and RapidSOS Haven app.
This training will cover the dynamics of abuse, working
with survivors, tips for responding to disclosures, and
the chance to connect with many resources in
Cambridge who help survivors.
A candlelight vigil will be held Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 6 p.m., on the steps of Cambridge City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Avenue, in observance of national Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Other October events include a training on working with domestic violence survivors on Oct. 16 and a Purple Thursday solidarity campaign on Oct. 19.
Mayor E. Denise Simmons and City Manager Louis A. DePasquale are asking residents and businesses of Cambridge to contribute to helping support residents of Puerto Rico who have been devastated by Hurricane Maria.
