Build Two Bus Shelters

Committee: Transportation, Streets, and Sidewalks

Cost: $400,000

Location: To be determined based on need and impact assessments.

Short Description: Install bus shelters at two bus stops. Locations will be selected to benefit the greatest number of riders. Providing accessible, safe, and comfortable shelters encourages use of public transportation and supports the City's environmental goals.

Long Description:

Cambridge has a wide variety of weather that can make public transportation unpleasant. Bus shelters provide access to shade and protection from rain, snow, and wind. With the construction of additional bus stop shelters, bus riders will be able to wait for buses more comfortably and safely. Providing accessible, safe and comfortable shelters across the City encourages the use of public transportation to bring Cambridge closer to its environmental goals.
