Improve Parks with Shade Structures and Seating ($250,000)

Committee: Facilities, Parks, and Recreation

Cost: $250,000

Location: Parks around the city.

Short Description: Make parks and dog parks more comfortable for visitors by building one to two shelters with seating for rainy or sunny days. This project would also fund additional benches and tables in various parks across the city.

Long Description:

Improve our parks to increase usage in all types of weather. This proposal would build shelters in our parks to protect people from the cold rain, sleet, and snow in the winter, and from heat and sun in the summer with seating (benches, tables, and/or chairs) under the shelter to make the area more comfortable and provide more seating space in general. Additional benches and tables in parks across the city would be included in this project.
