Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

Committee: Environment

Cost: $250,000

Location: To be determined by City staff based on need and impact assessments.

Short Description: Funding will support new construction and any related maintenance for two new electric vehicle chargers in Cambridge. Each charging location would charge two cars at once.

Long Description:
To improve air quality and advance a clean energy future, this project recommends funding to support the construction and related maintenance of electric vehicle chargers in Cambridge. For Cambridge residents who don't live in houses with off-street parking, which constitutes many Cambridge residents, access to public charging stations will be essential if they are to invest in electric vehicles.
