An analysis of the serious crime statistics for the first eight months of 2024 points to a 3% increase in the Part One index total for Cambridge when compared with the same time frame in 2023. Through September 2nd of 2024, there were 2,222 serious crimes reported in the City. For the same time period in 2023, the combined total for Murder, Rape, Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Burglary, Larceny & Auto theft was 2,160 incidents, 62 fewer than 2024. A 20% rise in the crime index has also been registered when measured against the five-year weighted average. Read more.
