Community Compact with Commonwealth to help fund Municipal Best Practices Initiatives
Cambridge will receive financial assistance for the advancement of two important initiatives - implementation of a Vision Zero outreach strategy, supporting the city’s commitment to ensuring safe mobility for all, and development of a sustainability dashboard to track and communicate greenhouse gas and energy use data in support of the Net Zero Action Plan.
Cambridge Teens Find Inspiration through STEAM Careers Exploration Program
The goal of the STEAM Careers Exploration Program, offered through the Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program, is to encourage teens – especially those from communities historically excluded from STEM opportunities - to pursue higher-level STEM classes in high school, decide to major in STEM fields in college, or otherwise follow a training path that leads to a well-paying career at a local company.
Cambridge STEAM Initiative Launches New Website
The website serves as a central digital hub for the Cambridge community to engage with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) resources, programs, and activities in Cambridge. The Cambridge STEAM Initiative is a joint venture between the City of Cambridge Department of Human Service Programs, Cambridge Public School Department, and the Cambridge Public Library.
