Although the State Eviction Moratorium expired on October 17, 2020, the City of Cambridge’s Temporary Emergency Order on Eviction Enforcement and Non-Essential Entry by Property Owners and Their Agents into Occupied Dwelling Units remains in effect until further notice.

The City of Cambridge is canceling all City-sponsored Halloween events and will not be issuing street closure, block party, or park permits this year for community events in order to help prevent large groups from congregating in close proximity.

Residents who are not eligible for regular unemployment benefits can now apply online for the new Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) program. The new federal program provides up to 39 weeks of unemployment benefits to those who are unable to work because of a COVID-19-related reason but are not eligible for regular or extended unemployment benefits. This includes self-employed workers, independent contractors, gig economy workers, and those with limited work history.

The Baker-Polito Administration issued an order requiring the use of masks or face coverings in public places (beginning May 6th) where they cannot socially distance from others. The Administration also announced expanded community health center COVID-19 testing capacity at centers throughout the Commonwealth.
